Six month Delivery?
Got a text from Audi dealership telling me that the car I ordered on Dec. 30th 2010 wont be delivered until June 2011, WTF!
When does Audi start 2012 production?

I just ordered a Q5 on friday and was told to expect pick up in July.

Yes I have a commission number. No I do not have a production date. Getting information from the dealer is like pulling teeth.. Now I know why they are reluctant to give delivery info.

Check cars.com for US inventory (not sure where you are)... there are more S4s showing up at dealers every week it seems... you might find something you like and can pay to have it shipped.

A six month wait for an order sounds doesn't sound out of the ordinary right now. Although I only put my order 2 weeks ago, my dealer had banked the order back in November, and I'm looking at delivery in mid-late April.
I ended up choosing my dealer because of the banked order thing... then you don't have to wait the full cycle...
