I never quite investigated the stainless trim option but it mentioned something about a "piano black" across the dash or something like that. Did they mean the whole area under discussion here? I don't think I've ever seen anyone on the board post pics of this option and I honestly can't remember anyone even talking about ordering it.

With the Stainless Steel option the inlays in the doors are an etched stainless steel and the console area surrounding the MMI controls is piano black, similar to the piano black that is already in there.

It doesn't change the silver painted plastic around the guages.
