I finally got my S4 today, but given that I was getting it in flat San Jose, nobody at the dealership could confirm how electromechanical parking brake works with manual transmission when you star on steep incline (coming up from union street in San Francisco comes to mind).
So before I try it out, can someone please confirm that if I set parking brake on, press clutch and release the parking brake, the parking brake will actually continue to hold the car until I will start moving forward (i.e. similarly to starting assist on automatic)?
Thanks,

That's not quite the proper procedure, and it actually works a bit better than that. You engage the e-brake, and then can remove your foot from the brake pedal. The e-brake will remain engaged until you release the clutch and achieve forward motion. You don't need to manually release the e-brake. Your seatbelt must be on for this to work.
