Default Steering wheel upgrade?

I'm considering upgrading the stock S4 steering wheel to a thicker one. I did that in my BMW 3 series where I installed an M steering wheel. I new to the Audi world so I'm don't even know if this is possible.

Does anyone have any info about getting an improved steering wheel for a 2011 S4? Thanks!

Ugh. Ho do you edit these posts?! Lol...sorry for the mangled sentences. It's late.

you need to go over to the feedback forum and request editing rights. There is a sticky post at the top of the forum for this. Ever since the VB SW change, editing rights are not default. You have to request them. Kris will hook you up.

To answer your original question, the only thing I can think of that might be able to help you is a guy who posts on the Audizine.com forums. He has an S4 that he has upgraded with a shifter from a TTS, and a steering wheel from...I think its an S6 or a European RS 6, but I'm not sure. Anyway, he had to jump through a bunch of hoops to do it, i.e. ordering the wheel from Europe, and fitting a TT airbag in it to make it legal. The wheel has a pretty cool squared off bottom, makes it look really impressive.

If your car has manual gearbox, you need the TTRS steering wheel (no paddles). S-tronic cars need the RS6 wheel (with paddles). The RS6 wheel also has a mix of air (perforated) and smooth leather, while the TTRS is all air leather. The steering wheel with the required airbag will run you almost $2K. Europrice and OEMplus are your best bets.

That's great info. It's an S-tronic (with paddles) steering wheel setup I want to replace. The RS6 steering looks fantastic, but if it's really going to set me back $2K then I'll pass. I'll look into it to confirm. Thanks, man.

Yep, OEMplus has the RS6 steering wheel for essentially $1000 and then the airbag costs another $1000. That's a bit too rich for my blood.
