"T" in V6T

There was something weird in regards to the AoA product planners wanting to use 3.0S and the product planners in Germany literally flipping out at the thought of the car having an "S" on it that was not part of the S4 badge. It was a strange situation. Eventually the AoA product team acquiesced and went with V6T. Sometimes the Germans meddle a little too much

They should just put the supercharged badge on all of them. There was no reason for the V6T badge to ever exist.
Funny that 2012 A6's come standard with the supercharged badge but 2012 S4's still cling to the V6T. Sounds like there was some kind of internal ego struggle, and the wingnut who came up with the V6T badge won ;o)

The V6T has got to go. That is some of the most confusing badging the auto world has ever seen. Even some Audi enthusiasts get confused.
I ordered the carbon fibre supercharged badges and they looked awesome on the car. Then the red supercharged badges came out and I switched to those. Love them even more.

You're right. That was part of the silly logic the Germans used when convincing the AoA product team to go with the V6T badge.

I think their logic was that everyone knew T on an Audi (and other cars) meant turbo. So since most people don't know the difference between a supercharger and a turbo, and both boost power, that for marketing it would be wise to just leave it as is.
Also, "S4 V6S" would sound weird and confusing. Not as confusing as "BMW X3 xDrive 35i" though

Since we are on the topic about the badges. I have ordered a pair of Carbon Supercharge badges which should arrive any day now. Is there a good tread or site ob how to take the current one of (some people say hair dryer and fishing rodd...) and how do you make sure the new badges are perfectly aligned and even on each side?
