I've never heard of this before
Here is an article about the possible fines in Ontario. I really haven't seen a slowdown with these new penalties. The cops must be tougher in NY and the other states I have driven in on my way to Myrtle Beach as the Yanks drive like snails in comparison to us in Ontario. A number of Yanks clog up the left lane and most refuse to move to the center or right lane. I have noticed the Pennsylvannia drivers seem to be as aggressive as our Ontario drivers.

During my trips across Ontario, I've noticed that drivers in Ontario are far more aggressive than I would have thought. I don't mind the drivers in cars, but I don't enjoy driving near the psychotic truck drivers who think it is safe to weave in and out of traffic with a tractor trailer.

Hate that Oregon cops are so strict! You do hear stories on the news about people getting pulled over going over 100 mph. To me that is really NBD and is shocking it makes the news.

Got pulled over last night but luckily just a warning (he probably felt bad since I've only had the car 3 days). Speed limits are just too low! Should have done a Euro delivery to get it out of my system!

Ya, a number of years ago, 2002 I think. But I'm fairly sure Alberta still has it.

I live in Ontario however work in Alberta most summers for two to four weeks as I am a catastrophe adjuster. Anyway there is no comparison to Alberta/Ontario drivers. In Ontario on the highway 20 over is the norm. If you drive 120 in a 100 zone in the left lane you will be run off the road. I couldn't imagine how fast we would drive here if we were allowed to have radar detectors. In Alberta with radar detectors most drive at the posted speed limit. I feel like crazy man when driving there. The people in Alberta are relaxed and a pleasure to deal with therefore I treated them fairly and for the most part gave away the insurers money like it was Christmas day. I suspect they drive the way they do (slow) as a result of photo radar. Therefore radar detectors a waste of money.
