Default Three Blues: 2013 S4, 2010 BMW 535 and 2001 S4

Fell in love with the S4 back in 2000 and even more so with the 2013 Estoril BLue, which was delivered last Monday. The Estoril is a more brilliant version of the Santorin Blue on the 2001. The BMW 535i was a fling that quickly lost its luster. I miss the I6 bi-turbo in the 535, but not much else.

I too am transitioning from Santorin to Estoril blue. I think it's a good replacement.

Estoril is especially brilliant at night, for example when illuminated by headlights from another car. Sadly, it shows just as much dirt as Santorin did.

I sought out my midnight blue metallic; was my first choice. I like your newest blue the best too. Good choice.

I test drove a 2010 535 last week with the M Sport Package...Loved the car but the dealer got a little cute with the numbers which didn't sit well with me..

Picked up my S4 yesterday..

Love the blue on your S4.

I am curious about your experience with the 535i compared to the S4. I drove almost 400 miles to buy the 2010 535 for the same reason as you. It was a nice car with an awesome engine but was simply too big.

The dealer was just playing games is all, no deal was ever agreed on but magically a set of payments appeared...They low balled me big time on my trade then were upselling the BMW in a big way...It was a gorgeous car and fit me well, (I'm 6'8") but they just left a bad taste in my mouth...The S4 with the seat all the way back and lowered gives me plenty of leg room I was surprised when I test drove it..

So far I'm loving the car the Audi's have come a long way since I last owned an A6 back in like 2001..

Loved Santorin, will miss Estoril. My GTi was a similar blue.

I never found Santorin that hard to maintain, but went with Ibis, both bacause of availability (CPO) and ease of maintenance. In the mean time, I feel like in my area a darker color actually hides the schmutz from the snow a little better than white.

Me neither, just wash it and keep it waxed. Maybe IHG once a year. I'm of the opinion that car finishes should be deep and rich and look like you can dive in and swim around in the paint. If the car hides dirt, well that's probably because it looks like dirt.
