I'll be going with Dunlop Direzza's when I need a replacement. Best tire out there, IMO.

Um, what exactly is a "hardened race rotor". They are all made out of iron. Like the element FE. About the only thing you can do is cast them in a special way, like Frozen Rotors insists they do.

So yesterday, I finally got around to cleaning the wheels on my car (it was at Achtuning for some APR ECU wholesome goodness... ).

I noticed that my front rotors had "two tones" with the inner being more "normal" silver color and the outer being darker. When I looked at the rear, the rotors seemed to be dark.

Is this what is known as "glazing"?

If so, now what...

Brakes are still strong. Not sure if they were as strong as they were pre-track. I guess I should find a nice quiet road and do an ABS stop and see. I haven't noticed any vibrations or anything though.

Thoughts guys?

High perf rotors are made with exotic things like CF in them to ceramics, these not only handle extreme heat better, and are lighter, but also wear better with harder race pads.

No glazing there that I can see, just a difference in the type compound of the pads used. The first pic you can see the rotor was used pretty hard though
