Default Vag Com cable question

OK, I just got my Vag Com cable shipped to me. I have been doing a lot of searching on this forum and other forums and have found a bunch of tweaks for the Audi. The question I have is are they model specific? In other words, will an S5 tweak work in my S4 (for the same equipment)?

Many of the VCDS hacks work across the product line on these newer vehicles, John.

Please create a complete AUTOSCAN of you vehicle and store it somewhere safe before you start playing Also, I suggest you fully document every change you make should your dealership reset everything to default during a service visit.

That's a good call. I wouldn't have thought to do that.

This might be of help...

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ht=vag+com+ADS

VCDS & Hidden menu: The complete list
I've been trying to compile a complete list of VCDS mods specific for our S4 cars. I started going through the B8 A4 Cool VAG-COM codes thread but the info is spread over 30 pages and repeats or is trivial. AudiEnthousiasts has also started to put a list together organized by category for the A4. I like his idea but I think there's a need for a straight list of cool VAG-COM mods specific to our S4 and a detail how-to consice in one document.

Please note, I'm not trying to steal or take credit for these mods, I've simply used the information available throughout the web and tried to bring them in a central place. Your help in filling in a few blanks and validating my info would be appreciated.

*Suggestion: Print this and check off the mods you've activated and store it with your owner's manual - Will come handy when you need to re-do the coding after an ECU flash.

Here's the list I've compiled so far:

+100 !

Now, two questions:

Enable DIS with Efficiency Program for MY2010+ (Not a complete Program without the Start/Stop System)

Is this for cars fitted with a MANUAL trans only?

Enable Auxiliary ventilation

What is this?

Awesome compilation! Thanks

Awesome compilation! Thanks
I have a DSG and the efficiency program rocks! It's very cool. If you are driving with the A/C on and you leave a window down it will prompt you that you could get better MPG if you rolled your window up... Very cool.

Auxiliary ventilation will allow you to turn the car off and leave the blower running for a set period of time. Or another example of what it will do...you can set it up so if you always get to your car at 6 pm after work...the blower will turn on at 5:45 pm to cool down the car before you get in it.

I don't know of anyone who has commented on the Aux Vent feature so I'm guessing that nobody has turned it on...someone may have, but I don't recall ever reading anything about it.

Check out this website...awesome info here too!!!

The guy who runs this website takes donations...I send him a few bucks each time I use something from his site. He is a B8 enthusiast to the extreme. He has done virtually every mod to his car known to mankind. He has a A4. He's put in rear seat heaters, electrically folding mirrors, changed the LED lighting on the MMI controls, etc. He has been a awesome help to me.

I see some sort of efficiency program in the DIS that shows you are increasing your fuel consumption by xx gals/hr and you could improve that by turning off the A/C or switching off the heated seats etc.

Auxiliary ventilation will allow you to turn the car off and leave the blower running for a set period of time. Or another example of what it will do...you can set it up so if you always get to your car at 6 pm after work...the blower will turn on at 5:45 pm to cool down the car before you get in it.

Interesting. Our Benzes had a feature like this that would heat the car or provide just a bit of ventilation on a warm day. The button was labelled REST. It could recirculate the coolant in the system and give a bit of heat with the engine off. I think it's the only thing I miss from those cars. I'm certainly going to look at that.

I don't know of anyone who has commented on the Aux Vent feature so I'm guessing that nobody has turned it on...someone may have, but I don't recall ever reading anything about it.

Yeah, I know David and have sent him some funds. He did the tail light re-programming on my car

Thanks again! I really appreciate the info
