I believe efficiency DIS is now standard. I found it on my 2011 A4 loaner.

I think that's right. I went to do the hack yesterday (2011 A4 Prem + ) and realized it was already turned on, as I thought.

I do not have VAG COM yet, so forgive me if I ask, but I wonder why anybody would want to do some of these things. For instance:

Disable amber corner lights
Disable amber side markers

That seems to reduce the visiblity and safety of the car.

Many do sound very neat to do. Some I have no idea what they mean, like:

Disable After-wipe of windscreen wipers

What's after wipe? Why disable it?

Enable Adaptive brake lights


What's that do?

many of the mods are what I'd call cosmetic. it's another way to individualize your car.

Disabling the amber side markers does just what it says, the amber side markers do not come on with the parking lights. Many feel the car looks better without the amber lights much like european head lights

the emergency braking change makes the brake lights flash briefly before going solid when hard braking from above 40 mph.

the wiper control changes allow you to alter the timing and number of wiper sweeps after using the washer. If you find it distracting or unnecessary to have the wipers sweep after the initial cycle of using the washer, you can change it. Or if the wipers don't adequately clean or remove the remaining washer fluid you can have them cycle more.

the vag-com changes I've done:
enable lap timer/oil temp
disable winking drl's
operate windows with key remote

will probably do the emergency braking because it looks cool
