The heating elements only kick on when the outside temp drops to a certain level. Sorry, I don't remember the #. When it gets cold again, you can test it with the back of your hand and it should feel warm. Too bad, I'd rather have a physical switch only so we could use it regardless of temp such as to clear up rain on them.

Thanks for all your replies. My 2011 is a P+ and will not dip the mirror without a VAG Com mod. I live in Malvern so if you have done this mod let's hook up.

I finally remembered to check this when I was in the care the other day. My 2011 P+ does NOT do this.

You have to VAGCOM it for the 2010-12 to work. I have done it on my 11 S4 and you ave to have the right mirror selected on the drivers door for it to work. only problem I see is that it doesn't go back to the same location every time. sometimes it does, others it goes a little higher than it was previously and you have to move it back down. I agree about the back-up camera and not using regularly. but, when you are in the city like philly it is huge help because the back-up camera doesn't get that angle. For those in the WC area let's meet up sometime. We are setting up a meet in Philly for the AZ forum guys. But, for those of us that are close we should meet up sooner. or go to waterfest together?

My P+ 2012 does this. Slightly, but it does move down. I wish it moved down further, as you can barely see the edge of the car with it at the current angle. Returning back to center seems a bit buggy as well. Seems to react similar to the intermittent(slow) backup camera I have.

Even though I don't have it I do not miss it. I never parallel park and when I do the backup camera seems to be enough help.
