Default Water Pump v.2

Got my car back from the Dealer last night after the water pump replacement that left me standing by the side of the road on Christmas Eve. Had already spoken to AoA who had agreed to extend my engine and drivetrain warranty 2 years/50K miles due to my concerns about the effect of overheating on engine parts.

Drove a mile back to my office to finish work and them made it 10 minutes into my drive home when the exact same scenario occurred again!!! "Coolant Level Low", "Turn Engine Off" and flashing icon as the temp gauge pegged at Hot once more. Roadside Assistance again, waiting for the flatbed again, back into a loaner again (which to the dealer's credit they brought to me).

Waiting to hear back from both the Dealer and AoA...

This is a little scary... They should have put in the aluminum housing + new thermostat.... You should fight for them to add audicare to your car or pay a months payment

I purchased Audicare when I bought the car. So far I've only advised AoA of the new issue, waiting for their response...

that sucks man! look at your paperwork for the part number that they replaced your water pump with. the correct part number would be 06E-121-018-A for the upgraded aluminum pump.

hopefully, it will be a simple as air bubble in the lines. Had that happen to me in another car. Temp gauge pegged immediately after work was done, level was low.....they re-added coolant, fine ever since.

When they replaced my WP ,I drove out 3 miles away from the dealership ,open the hood and notice the water level 1 inch below the minimum .
i add coolant and since level is good .
I talked to Audi the next day and they said air bubble are often the case .
i was pissed at them because my WP went out the day before Thanksgiving when 500 miles away from home .
it's all good now .

They have to pull your supercharger to get to the thermostat. See if they will take some pics of the intake runners and valves for us for carbon buildup possibilities?

I'm only at 7K miles. Still want me to ask?
