I depends on when yours was built. the easiest way to tell is to look at your waterpump and see if it aluminum.

Can u point me to the area in the engine bay to look at? This is my first Audi and i just bought the car 2 days ago.

For what it's worth, my SA told me anecdotally that there was a "tiny, barely perceptible" amount of carbon build-up on the valves and intakes...
