Funny you say that DrGP...my choices were either a 5.0 Mustang or the S4. I ultimately went with the S4 because the deal I'm getting simply cannot be beat. My decision was made from a finances point of view, not a vehicle point of view. I would have ultimately been VERY happy with either.

What deal on as S4 was good enough to beat Ford pricing?
Re the original post... The reason the Audi is so close is probably mostly due to traction. American muscle cars have virtually none. If you ran the three cars to 150, the Audi would be WAY behind.

Even a run to 0-100mph, the S4 is behind. The Mustang and Camaro are limited by traction off the line (on street tires).
