If you check with TrueCar or AmEx ZAG, they also include Ad Fees as part of the deal. With that being said, I had this dilemma of how I should approach the whole Ad Fee debate from what I've been reading on AZ and AW. In the end, I decided to sweep it under the rug as I figured I would not be able to escape it in SoCal. Could I have gone half & half with the Ad Fees with the dealership? Maybe...but certainly not the whole ~$900 charge. I still believe I got a good deal, and I guess that's good enough for me. I also take it as the people that got the Ad Fees dropped in SoCal had connections with the dealership or just had very good haggling skills, but other than that, I think dealerships are starting to pickup on the whole pitting dealer against dealer method so they're less likely to drop these charges.

I'll say you made an excellent deal!!!! If you are truly getting an S-Tronic... they are only charging you the invoice price of a Manual.
Manual invoice = $45,275
S-Tronic invoice = $46,606
That saves you about $1331.
Even if they add $543 of fees you still make out by about $788.

you can look up individual invoice prices here
http://www.truecar.com/prices-new/audi/
Invoice price bottom line will vary with location because Audi regional ad fees vary with location and also with total vehicle cost, but individual options are fixed invoice price.

RUN! DO NOT walk away. Please take the specs of the car you want and call the 4-5 closest Audi dealers and tell them you will order immediately if you get a really good price. Some dealers will bite, other will not. If you get 2 dealers to give you offers, play the one against the other. All done on the telephone. Be prepared to travel 1-1/2 hrs away to get a great deal if necessary. BTW, get your deposit back ASAP. ALL deposits are refundable. Get everything in writing and a $500 deposit protects YOU against the dealer reneging on what was agreed on. I also suggest that before you put down another deposit that you run it by the forum members to make sure you aren't getting screwed.
Then when you have problems go back to the nearest dealer and let them give you some good "service"!
I may have left a few nickles on the table whenever I have purchased cars, but I have NEVER had any issues with service depts, etc, because I could always rely on the sales rep I work with to smooth out any "rough edges".
Don't be penny wise and pound foolish!

On an invoice for a 2011 S4 Southern California car has these 3 obscure labels and pricing:
SCADA2 #350 $438.04
AoA LA DAA #351 $274.00
Preparation and inspection $195
I assume the first two are for advertising, I was told Prep/Inspection was a charge mandated by Audi that takes place at the port.
I was told That they would waive an additional dealer prep (not listed on the invoice) $295 that takes place once the car arrives at the dealer. Which is removal of protection film, suspension adjust etc.
I know that this dealer prep fee is BS but what about the one listed on the invoice for the port of call? Is this also another BS charge or is this a real charge from Audi?
Has anyone in Souther California been able to get a discount on the high ad fees?
