You don't need to pay for the radio to get traffic. It's a $3.99 subscription by itself and doesn't require a radio contract.

My main complaint is that the sport mode with the S-Tronic isn't aggressive enough. VW got this right with the 6-speed DSG. The sport mode in a VW is noticeably more aggressive. The sport mode in the Audi isn't much different from the default mode. It needs much higher shift points, and it needs to never go into 7th gear ever. The TCM update from late last year made the situation worse rather than better.

You definitely can do that...I've only had the car a few days and I don't have the manual here, so don't sue me, but I think you hit "car" then "info" then choose the ac tab at the bottom right and turn "synchronize" on. Something like that, anyway. Look for "synchronize" in the manual if this doesn't work.

I have a GTI with DSG which is much more aggressive in sport mode then the S4. I too am disappointed in the sport mode. Way too conservative most likely to avoid the dreaded gas guzzler tax. For this reason I generally drive her in full manual as the auto sport mode sucks the hind tit.

It avoids the gas guzzler tax by defaulting to auto every time you turn it on, not sure what's up with the sport mode. Driving it manual is great though - to me it's all the good things of a manual with none of the bad things, I love it. The only problem I have with it is finding the paddle when "spinning" the wheel like in a quick u-turn.
