Would you prefer a blank plastic plug?

I guess we should consider it a free console "port" should anyone feel the need to run an extra switch etc...

The same Audi brought you the B6's Yogi Kudu folding cupspiller.

That was a travesty. The B6/B7 little card holder drawer and the B8 coin holder.... not so much.

I love the folding cup holder. It's been home to all my Black Berries over the years

Exactly, I would prefer something I can rest my phone in, but oh well.

I just think of the coin holder as a decorative bit, rather than something that was intended to be functional (which is essentially what it really is anyway). I do think it looks better than a blank plastic cover plate would. Besides, I haven't paid a toll with cash in more than a decade, so I don't see a need to have a staging area for coins.

When I read the title of this thread I thought you'd be talking about the plastic fixture on the inside of the glove box door. Anyone know what that is? I've been wondering.

Not sure exactly what you are talking about but there is a small shelf for placing an iPod or similar player when you connect it to the radio through the plug inside the glove box.

I though it was a vent to dry your hands off like in a bowling alley
