Default Wheel mounting + balancing and TPMS

Few questions that I hope some people can answer.

1. What is the average price for mounting and balancing for wheels on our cars?

2. Does anyone know if putting on aftermarket wheels will require the transfer of the TPMS as well?

3. Can the wheels be removed or is the TPMS connected to them preventing removal?

4. Also, what if one does not want the TPMS anyway?

TIA

$20 - $35 per wheel.

You don't have to worry about TPMS hardware on a 2011 car. It has the newer system which reads thru the ABS system.

FatalBert- there are no TPMS sensors. it is done using the ABS wheel rate sensors, no TPMS sensors in wheels. as far as typical tire mounting rates, contact your local installer for quote.

Is this also true for 2010 models? I will eventually change my tires with all seasons. Another question is I know the stock tires came filled with nitro air....I'm probably not going to get the new tires filled with any nitro....will it be a big difference in performance?

Cant help you with the nitro, but I'm pretty sure our cars have the same TPMS system. Take it from Bruce or uber they know more.

I have a 2010 with aftermarket A/S tires/wheels, so this is true about TPMS. As far as nitrogen, normal air is 79% nitrogen (21% oxygen). I'd just run normal air if I was you.

It's easy to identify traditional TPMS vs. the ABS-based system. Cars with the traditional system and in-wheel sensors will have METAL valve stems. Cars with the newer system (sensor-less) will have RUBBER valve stems
