Where do I find the build date?

Default Where do I find the build date?
I tried decoding the VIN but it came up as 1981 for my 2011 S4! Is there a sticker somewhere? Thanks in advance!

Look inside the drivers door jam, below the latch near the bottom of the main car body, see below example. It is also stamped inside your maintenance book and inside the wheel well where the spare tire is located.

You can call AoA directly and ask them. They should be able to tell you the actual day of your build, not just the month.
