Will 17" 245/45/17 rims from 2010 A4 fit?
Picked up a 2012 S4 yesterday and am starting to look for winter wheels. Came across a set of A4 wheels for $700 but am wondering if 17" wheels fit over the calipers. How can I find out?

I always check Tirerack... They do NOT offer a "minus 1" (17" wheel) set up for the S4. Either nobody makes a 17" wheel or they won't fit over the brakes. Might have to call the dealer parts guys, they would know, unless someone who has tried it chimes in.

I still plan to figure this out from an earlier thread:

I was going to sell the 17s I have but some other expenses have come up. Will likely find out for sure if 17s will fit later this week. I'm guessing they won't work...

Once your past that, the brake clearance might be an issue.
Then of course, the offset. Look on the back of the wheel. My B8 S4 OEM 18" wheels were marked 18x8.0 & ET =47
This 17" wheel claims to fit the B8 S4;

Thanks m444. That's the first link I've seen suggesting that 17" wheel could go on an S4, not that too many folks would want to except for a couple of us on a budget maybe. I took a look at my old VW wheels and found this info: 7.5Jx17H2 E47. I measured 2.68" with a tape measure so 2.63 is probably what it is. The car calls for 245/40R18s while the VWs with Blizzak LM60s are 235/45R17 which should work if they clear the brakes. I explained via PM my fun trying a couple jacks, so I'll try a shop, maybe the one I bought the Blizzaks at, to find out if the wheels truly fit with the brakes and such. thanks again for the help.

Well, I tried the old V-dub 17s from a 2007 and it would appear that they would clear the brakes, but the hub on the S4 was just a hair or two larger than the VW wheels. The wheels were in worse shape than I remember, so selling them off and will mount some winter tires in November on the stock 18s. Good luck if you're still pursuing the A4 wheels...maybe they will work.

Somewhat the reason I started that other thread regarding what tire/rim sizes fit on the S4.
There is a post on a Canadian Audi forum where a former 2011 S4 owner (recently traded in for a 2012 A6) is selling is winter tire and rim package.
I won't link to it as I don't know if this forum permits that, but the rim spec was "AR1 replica RS4 wheels 17 x 7.5 ET35".
