I know, old topic. I'm picking up my black S4 on March 2nd and really like the look of 35% all around but Virginia law only allows for 35% in rear and 50% in front. Anyone from VA know if the police are serious about front window tint based on experiene or other knowledge? Seems 35% isn't very dark, certainly not Limo dark. Any thoughts? Not sure how the split in tint will look if that's the way I go.

I have had 35% tint on front and rear windows of my car for over two years and never been bothered.

I have 50% on Front Doors, 35% on Rear Doors and 20% on C-pillar windows & Rear. I just got them done and I love them so far. I was cautioned (numerously) that tints look better when they are one percentage and I agree but the difference is not so bold (definitely not odd) i drive a bit at night and will struggle less when using side mirrors or if looking for anything in the car (black interior) * and if i ever have a run in with the law maybe it will be unnoticed/overlooked.

I have 35%all around, I get a ton of tickets for it. I'm in NYC. They used to be really cool about tints, then Bloomberg became our mayor and nothing goes unticketed anymore. Seriously sux. Doesn't help that my windshield is tinted at 50% either.

I got mine done today I will post pictures on the weekend went with 20% tint. I had the same on my previous car and no run ins with the police. Looks great. Photos to follow. I was going to go with 35% tint but decided against it today. My GTI is 35% and is not dark enough.

I have 40% on the front, side, and back windows on Brilliant Black. In NJ, no tint % is allowed on the fronts. No issues with cops thus far on the S4 or my previous car (A3 with 35% tint).
