I took my 2018 S4 in for its 70k service today. One of the recommended service items was to replace the motor mounts as they were leaking a small amount of hydraulic fluid. I didn't even know motor mounts had hydraulic fluid in them. Anyone have experience with this? Does 70k seem like a reasonable lifetime for the mounts? They quoted about $800 in parts and $1600 in labor. If I do get them replaced, anything else that I should replace to take advantage of labor already being done?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If it were me, I'd skip the OE mounts and put in something like 034's street density mounts which don't have fluid and have a lifetime guarantee. They're even quite a bit cheaper than OE (and on sale currently).
Can't really comment on the labor cost since that's very area dependent. If these are dealer prices you might be able to do better at an independent shop.
The factory mounts are prone to failure so I'd say with the year and the miles it's not all that surprising that yours would've failed.

The wife's 2018 Allroad with 43k miles has a engine mount with a small leak. We were quoted about $2k for parts and labor. I'm going to go aftermarket for her Allroad.

My 2018 had the same problem right as the warranty expired. I bought a set of the 034 street density mounts but haven't installed them yet

Anyone else with leaking mounts that have symptoms they can feel?
If so, what are they?
TIA

No clunks in my S4. I'm good for now.
