Default Apple CarPlay Issues

I have experienced an issue a couple of times with Apple CarPlay where the on screen interface disappears after some time and it wont let me back into the interface unless I unplug the phone and plug it back in. Anyone else experience this? Minor, but annoying.

Constantly. CarPlay on this car is extremely buggy and unreliable.

Hopefully they will come out with a software update for the system. At first I thought it was a bad cable, but the new cable is acting the same way

TOTALLY AGREE.

No matter what update we get thru Audi, it'll never keep up with the OTA Apple iOS software updates we get through our cellphone providors.

Yeah I agree with you there unfortunately.

Yup. Carplay is buggy as hell on the MMI with my car (v0918). I know 1118 fixes my issues, but Audi claims it isn't compatible with my S5 so they wont install it.

In fact, I have several confirmed MMI bugs with plain USB media playback as well on my MMI software (not just Carplay).

It's very frustrating that Audi doesn't have more frequent and openly available software updates. Over the air updates would be ideal.

Agreed, although, (knock on wood), I haven't experienced any issues this past week. Hopefully its just an issue when connecting for the first few times....heres hoping!

Upgraded to iOS 11.3 on my iPhone 7+. After a cycle to let CarPlay get the updates, the mysterious disappearing menu seems to have been resolved this morning. Took the car out twice and the CarPlay menu pops back after the parking sensors go on/off. Hopefully the bug has been squashed!

Same phone here, on Verizon.

No matter what update comes, I cannot get the car to recognize the phone if I have the phone connected (carplay active) and then power off the car.

On restart, the car (carplay) Will NEVER recognize the phone, which will then require me to physically disconnect the phone, and reconnect to be recognized again.

This has been going on for a LONG TIME for me, and I'm seriously OVER IT!!

Same thing here. I have the iPhone X on iOS 11.3 and I now have no more CarPlay issues
