I enabled a setting that has a check box in the MMI for left or right hand drive.. if I attempt to select it to see what it does it unselects itself.. any idea what this is for?
Actually it was as I was looking for the auto high beam setting and there was a post stating you have to enable a specific menu to activate so I was going through the few menu options you could activate and this was one of them that I thought was interesting..
I'm not familiar with Carista.. On OBDEleven or VCDS, there are 3 long coding changes to make.. Looking at Carista's site, they describe this to change under "Lights, Exterior".
High beam assist (step 2 of 2)
YES / NO
High beam assist menu
YES / NO
For actually turning them on or off once they are coded:
After coding, go into MMI ‘Vehicle’ > ‘Exterior Lights’ > Check the box for ‘Headlight assistant’.
Headlights need to be switched to ‘AUTO’. After enabling through MMI, push the turn signal stalk towards the instrument cluster and the high beam logo should illuminate the instrument cluster with “AUTO” underneath. Auto high beams will now work above 20 MPH when conditions are met (e.g. no other light source on roadway or vehicle).
Also -- for changes that add menus to the MMI -- it often requires an MMI reboot before the options appear.. In case you dont know:
