Yes -- but it doesn't work if you turn the HVAC off in the car. All of the OBD methods work by changing the climate control threshold for engaging the start-stop -- but if the HVAC is off, the car will still turn off if you are in D mode.
The dongle doesn't have that issue.

I turn mine off when I open the windows or sun roof so I went with the dongle solution. So far it's 100% solid.

I wrapped mine in fabric, but I haven't noticed any rattles. There's a lot of empty space back there.
To reinstall, you have to remove the keys from the locks, and then just push the panel in until it snaps. Very easy.
