Just received an Email from Audi. My S4 is starting production!! I was initially told that production would start in week 40. Then dealer advised that production had been moved up to week 38. By my calculations, we are just starting week 35, or am I calculating wrong?

It’s also important to keep in mind that any dates shown to your dealer are eta’s only, until that date passes. It’s not uncommon for a build week to be assigned, have it pass, and not actually come yo fruition for a few weeks later. The milestone you want to see is production completed. Production takes 4 or 5 days for most models.

Thanks for the info. I do like to keep up to date on my Audi build, but I don't get too excited until I see "released to carrier". My dealer had informed me on 8/03/22 that changes were locked out.

The email about “starting production” simply means it’s frozen to changes. Not that it’s actually stating to be built. Which is why the automated audi emails are rather useless, as they have little info, and are not in real time.

Yeah, my 2022 Allroad was stuck at US port for over 2 months before being released to carrier. Dealer guessed that it was a service bulletin or EPA cert that delayed it in port. Dealer is still saying a late Oct or early Nov delivery for my S4.
