Default How long will it take for a custom ordered S4?

Hey guys!

I have just put in an order for the new S4, and after waiting 2 weeks for Audi finance to granting me the lease, the dealer just submitted my custom order yesterday. Since this is the first time I do a custom order car (Also this is gonna be my first NEW car) in the US, I was just wondering how long is the typical waiting time for the S4, and what are the typical status for the order? Thanks!

Plan for around 100 days, give or take.

Don't know what you mean by "status," but your order will go through several stages. I may have these not 100% perfect:

1. Order accepted
2. Order scheduled for production
3. Order "frozen" (meaning you can't make any changes, prior to the frozen date, you could change your mind)
4. Order ACTUAL production
5. Order (build) complete
6. Order sits around for god knows what reason
7. Order departs the factory
8. Order arrives at first drop off point (call it "port")
9. Order MAY sit around for god knows what reason again (sometimes because you accessorized it and the accessories are "installed" at the port)
10. Order released for "transportation" (put on a train a truck a dromedary, a horse or elephant for all I know)
11. Order arrives at YOUR dealer
12. Dealer "PDI's" your new car (essentially meaning the shipping "blocks" are removed and a "pre-delivery inspection" -- covering more than actually inspecting -- takes place)
13. You get a phone call (sometimes you even get the call at step 12) to "come on down" and pick up the new sheen.
14. You go to the dealer and sign some paperwork and the car is "delivered to you" -- if this process is done correctly it will take several hours, more or less based on the options you put on the thing.
15. You drive off the lot.

About 100 days all together.

ordered from same dealer, but has a much later ETA:

4/8: Ordered
6/19: Production Complete
7/4: Ship departs
8/12-18: ETA at dealer in Pasadena, CA

I guess times can vary quite a bit.

I wonder if it has to do with what Audi's build schedule is.

I have a prestige on order with the following

ibis white with black alacantera interior
black optic
driver assistance
S package
dynamic steering
front plate delete
