2018 S4, 75k miles. No sport diff.
Few weeks ago, I had a clunk/clank noise show up in the rear end that would quiet down under braking. There was also a gentle hum/vibration noise when braking. It sounded like a classic "your brakes are shot and something's tapping/rubbing something else every revolution" kind of noise. Pads and rotors were definitely in bad shape, so I replaced them. The hum/vibration stopped, but the clunk is still there. One clunk per revolution of the wheels, driver's rear wheel area, loudest between 0 - 45 mph or so, and it gets quieter under braking or heavy acceleration. No real change when steering, going over bumps, or anything else.
When I did the brakes, I looked everything else over. No obvious damage to bushings or cv boots. Everything looked fine and felt tight. Could this be a bad cv joint? I'd like to have an idea before throwing parts and time at it.
