Default S4 B9.5 faint whistle while revving engine at idle

Hey audi-ence 😃. Alright, alright.. so I’ve got one for y’all, however, if anyone has posted this before, please link your guy up and I will remove this post!

so.. I was on my way to work this morning (37 degrees, 35 min drive) when I noticed a faint whistling noise after getting off the freeway (driving for around 30 min) only while accelerating, going 5-20mph.

The faint whistling sound happened again a few minutes from home (30 min drive, engine reaching operating temp at 5-20mph.. to note, I did not notice the whistling immediately leaving work).

in addition, when I was driving on the highway (which is most of the drive) I did not hear the whistling sound but I did notice a rattling noise (coming from the right of the dashboard) only when generously accelerating from 50mph to 70mph. I did also notice a slight pull to the right, but only a slight that must’ve been transient as it only happened once out the five times I tried that (rattling continued).

After I got home, I revved the engine while in park and recorded this clip, the exact sound it made this morning.

As for the rattling, I don’t have a clip but can get it if needed.

thanks in advance!!

PS: it’ll happened in individual S Mode (balanced drive, comfortable suspension, sport steering and present engine sound)

Sounds perfectly normal to me. Its the turbo.
Open the airbox, take the air filter off, rev it again I bet the whistle is much pronounced.

Turbo example

I have a modified air intake system. Every time when I accelerate it has a much pronounced whoooooshhi.
If I studently left off gas while it is in full boost it surges like 0:14 here.

Not sure about the rattles though.
Mine does have a card flipping noise coming the passenger side. Only when it is cold, starting to drive away.

Thanks. That sounds sick! Guess it’s time for some mods
