Thanks so much for this video.. I know there is a good written guide on this procedure in the forum, but your video was very good at providing a visual guide as well.

Good video. I suggest buying Brake Clean and spray it on the inside of the calipers then use a toothbrush to scrub away the dirt and dust that has built up. That keeps the seals clean and the pistons move better. I always use Brake Clean or similar product when doing my own brakes on my cars and motorcycles

Good idea, thank you! I bought Brake Clean but not sure whether I should apply the fluid to the inner side. I'll do that next time.

Great vid, thanks for sharing.

so how many miles should the brakes last? I have over 20K miles on my 2018 (mostly freeway, no track or hard driving) should I be thinking of replacing or are they good for much longer?

Really varies on driving style, but I have 28K on original brakes and I’ll be returning it on lease within the next couple of weeks. I had my 30K maintenance done a couple of weeks ago, and if they actually measured them on the inspection report, they showed them as green.

Generally don't worry. It has wear sensor on left-front and right-rear pads. Even when the car gives you brake pad wear warning, you can still drive for many local miles. Wear sensor:

Or you can check from outside, like my track day video here:
The minimal thickness is about:

If your wear sensors engaged and caused the light to come on before replacing the pads -- you also need to replace the wear sensor(s) that engaged.

If you replace the pads before the wear sensors activate, you dont have to replace the sensors.
