Audi has always been a "niche" market manufacturer. The last few years they have made a big move....
to go mainstream. I don't think that they have the correct corporate mindset to pull it off yet. Maybe they will, and maybe they will just go back to the way they were.

Agree with a lot of what he says
The unfortunate truth is that owning an Audi is more often than not a very frustrating experience. A wonderful driving car that is frequently marred by many little and many times not so little problems with a dealer network that has difficulty repairing the problems when they do occur (or worse causing new problems while trying to fix current ones). I know many one time Audi owners that simply gave up because owning an Audi was just too much work.
Audi needs to stop moving forward for a time and make sure that its current cars are built in such a way they can be repaired when things go wrong (there is a reason so many independent shops do not want to touch VW/Audi products) and do a major dealer improvement program to make sure that a majority of the dealers can repair the cars currently being sold and can repair them correctly without causing new problems along the way.
Without these changes, Audi is doomed to remain in its current situation with the majority of sales being to one time Audi buyers.

Very nice writeup. I think Audi's customer service is a main cause...as is Audi's inability to build
Japanese-style reliability in their cars. I fail to believe that one must sacrifice reliability for performance.
Separately, in reference to the Lexus part, isn't the SC430 a good sportscar? The writer only mentions the IS300.
