Default "Bank 1 Cam Gear Timing"

That's what the dealer said was causing my misfires.

Sound reasonable?

Also they claim that the headlights were assembled correctly but they needed to be adjusted via the VAG the first time. If not, every time the key is pulled the lights go back to illuminating the bumper.

Check the crank position sensor target wheel on the flywheel as well.

Default Would this be something they would normally check?

And when I call them and ask if they checked this and they say "No, why the heck would we do that?" I should say what, other than Anthony said so?

Default I saw quite a few 2.7T's come in to AMS, with screwed up cam timing from the factory

we pretty much checked every car getting a stage 3 done
maybe the dealer checked the other more obvious stuff

and still didn't solve it, so they checked that

Default It was idling a little rough

not too rough, but not smooth as butter like it used to.

Default You can check cam timing with the VAG tool block 90, 91, or 92 , IIRC.

Need to do that on my car too.

Default It was running fine until they pulled the engine after the accident

I'm picking the car up tomorrow morning so I'll see how it feels. Guess I'll check up on the timing too.

Thanks!

Default If you are throwing a code for implausable cam position sensor signal then it is referring to the

relationship between the crank position sensor and the hall sensors (cam positions sensors). Either one can be out of time and pop that same cam code. The target wheel on the flywheel is not super secure and can slip. If it is off then it WILL cause misfires and other issues.

Default Interesting...never got a cam position DTC

just the misfires. I'll talk to the folks at Rosen, though.

Thanks!
