My factory bellypan had taken quite a beating over the last 3+ years, and was starting to sag and drag on not so deep snow.

Nothing in particular, just general abuse, must have saved my oil pan once or twice.
I wanted a tougher pan and had noticed a "Heavy Duty" pan in ETKA, PN 8D0863821P - sound dampening pan for vehicles with engine protection grille.
I tried to find out what it was like, but no-one that I got in touch with was sure, I took a chance and decided to find out, someone had to do it![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

P suffix pan I ordered arrived with an AC suffix and looked like this:
<img src="http://tychl.txf.com/bp/newpan.jpg">
Original pan had a thickness from about 0.06 to 0.07", and weighed 2.75lbs. New "heavy duty" pan is 0.14 to 0.16" thick and weighs 6.375lbs. Extra thickness made the dzus fasteners a bit harder to lock down.
Part number sticker of the new pan.

Hard rubber block that rests against subframe and view of vents.

Another view of vents.
<img src="http://tychl.txf.com/bp/vent1.jpg">
Cheesy vids of both pans being shaken, noise on new pan is from fenderwell plastic dzus thingys.

<a href="http://tychl.txf.com/bp/newpan.avi">New pan</a>
Is it worth the extra $135? Maybe, if it does end up lasting longer, it is a lot thicker and stiffer. I wonder what exactly the "engine protection grille" is, I assume it attaches to the metal grommets, be nice to have.
