$180 for an EGT sensor? Anywhere cheaper than ECS? VW part number?

Yup.

IIRC, they only make the black one now and you have to cut off some of the plastic to make it fit in the brown sensors position.

It caused my car to buck, but only when I lightly lifted off while at WOT (every time)....

Never did it after replacement. I can't confirm whether or not it made the car run any slower though.

it definately fixed it for me. had a single code.. EGT short to ground i think
