So basically what you're saying is use the GL-5, but be sure to change it every 5-10k?

Should be MT-90. Those two GL-5s will be corrosive.

Default I guess there are pros and cons to the GL-5. I'll take protection over smooth shifts in the cold if

that's the trade off. Jason states that by the time there is any corrosion my car will be an antique. I don't know enough about brass and oils to make an educated guess.....

Default Who do I go with you or Jason? I agree that the GL-5 is corrosive because it says so on the bottle

I'm leaning towards GL-4 because I'm not concerned with smoothness durring warm up. But is Jason correct in stating that the corrosion won't occur for a very long time? (millenia) 8-)

still a GL-5 still corrosive. The NS just has diff levels of FM than the straight 75w90

Default I'm saying its stupid to even take the chance when there are GL-4/5 fluids out there that offer the

performance of a GL-5 but the corrosiveness of a GL-4.

Seems really stupid not to make that decision. Audi/VW opted to put a GL4/5 in all their manual trannys for a damn good reason.

Seeing as how GL-5 carries 30-50% more corrosives than a GL-4, it will wear your tranny out faster.

As for credibility . . . go search on www.bobistheoilguy.com or ask lemieux for the list of links on gear oil composition I sent him.
