Well there is a reason. But it has nothing to do with me. Seems my age catagory is getting hit harder now then before. Treat for me, my insurance just went up 213 bucks for the year. Bastage! So now instead of 1075.02 for 6mos or $2150.04 a year, I get to pay a cool, $2362.26 a year or $1181.13 for 6mos.
I guess they're trying to get their last licks in before I turn 25. Then they said it would drop to $1482 a YEAR!!! or $741 for 6 mos....
====================
On an interesting side note, she told me that owners of regular WRX's, STI's, Evo's and Neon RT4's are getting hit even harder in my current age group (24 and under). She said my car wasnt on the black list but it was an above average increase.
She said that insurance for high hp cars for the young are really going up because of apparant increase in accidents, injury, death and fraud.
On a brighter note atleast I dont live in New Jersey anymore....

Just give it a bit more time... in a few years, it'll be through the roof.
What do you think killed the horsepower wars in the late 60's and early 70's? Gas shortages? Of course not, people who are that enthusiastic about cars will just pay more, thats the price of performance. Insurance companies killed it by putting pressure on manufacturers and the government.
Its just a matter of time now. There's no reason for 400hp sedans, or 300+hp economy rice rockets. People will start wrecking them in higher numbers, people will start dying, and you better believe insurance rates for high horsepower cars will go through the roof.
