Injecting water without any changes to the software could lead to lower power production due to the slower burn rate that occurs. Peak cylinder pressure gets delayed, and if timing isn't simultaneously advanced you effectively are retarding the timing. The methanol is also going to enrich the mixture, but if there isn't any additional O2 to burn it, then all you are getting is extra in-cylinder cooling that isn't needed. The intake temps may be helped a bit, but it will most likely depend upon how your software reacts as to whether or not you see gains, no change, or a drop in performance. My sense is most people either get a slight gain or no change if they use software that has been coded to use W/M injection. You could use Lemmiwinks to try and advance the timing and lean the mixture.
