Wal-Mart sells the Mobil 1 T&SUV formula (5w-40), $20 for a 5-quart jug.

Default Has anyone found anything conclusive to prove/disprove that rumor?

I'd have no problem trying out the M1 5w40 SUV formula if they're the same, but I don't really want to go out of my way to track down delvac.

Default Thanks. Didn't get a chance to pick up oil at lunch, ...

... so will do more diligence before heading home.

Do some searching/reading over on the BITOG forums.

Default I don't think I've ever seen mine break 250 (maybe just barely a couple times) ...

Of course, it's never been on the track. However, even driving spiritedly in summer with ambient temps over 110, I haven't noticed the oil running exceedingly hot (i.e. 275-300).

sounds like you're fine then (no need for the oil cooler)...

Default That was kind of a fleeting moment, if you will. ;-)

It was for sale, and still is for the right price, but only because I felt I needed (read: wanted) something different/new. I don't feel like spending thousands in maint costs, which is a given for this car after 75k miles (or sooner), and tend to churn cars quickly in general (the S4 is the longest I've owned a car, both time- and mileage-wise).

I'm holding off now for the B7 RS4.
