Is there anything to be aware of when using a higher octane gas? I have an MTM v2 chip and found a gas station that has both 101 & 104 octane so I was thinking about getting a tank full

Other than that, unless you are running high compression > 11:1 or so, you won't notice much.
From say 89 - 94 sure, from 94-96 better yet. But, beyond that, probably not too much.
Make sure that the dealer sells a high volume of gas, otherwise if it is unleaded you can get stale gas, or even water. My dealer sells by the drum or at the pump, and does a very good buiness, so you know it is fresh.
High octane leaded gas stays very well, as long as it is in a sealed container. I use VP fuel C12 which is 108 octane, and it can keep for nearly a year sealed up. BUT, it is leaded, so...
Also the higher the octane, the higher the price. C12 is cheap here @ $5.05/gal, cheaper if you buy in volume. Guys say the Sunoco premium race 108 runs around $5.50/gal around the NY/CT area.
