You need to look at it to be sure (or scan it with a VAG), but I would guess "B"

Or just look at the top of the ECU if you don't have a VAG

No. A-box is '00 6-speed. B-box is tip

Default That's very hard to believe. 6spds: 00=A, 01=H, 01.5=M, 02=T

And no one has ever suggested that the tips and 6spds are interchangable, so I can't imagine that the A worked on both the 00 6spd and tip.

Perhaps it's true, but just VERY hard to believe

Default Here, GIAC lists the year/tranny/ECU# on their sheet...

2000 audi S4 2.7BT 6-speed X CHIP 1.2 bar @ 2k-5k may spike to 1.35, 1 bar after 5k 8D0907551A

2000 audi S4 2.7BT TIP X CHIP 1.2 bar @ 2k-5k may spike to 1.35, 1 bar after 5k 8D0907551B

They also list a 2000 M & D ECU - I assume those are Mexico or overseas?

http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/AUDI_CHIP_CATALOG_0403.pdf</a

Default Found my old receipts...

When I first got a chip for the S it was a TAP one that was the A box and it didn't work on the car. Tap refunded the money because they didn't have one developed for the Tip in 2000. I then got a B box from APR and all was well. Thanks for helping to clear that up!
