Default never underestimate the ability of a dealer to overcharge

oil (good stuff) - $35
Filter - $12

you're getting ripped off - are you sure it's just an oil change?

Default $29 at Bernardi in MA, IIRC. ~$21 if you bring your own oil

most recently I split a 10-pack of filters with DAP. We bought them from ECS for $79.95.

So, $8 for the filter, and $35 for 7 quarts of Mobil1 at most dept stores (~$4.75/qt). But likely the oil you get at most oil changes is A LOT cheaper.

I also picked up the nice Craftsman oil filter wrench. Combined with Rhino Ramps and a creeper, oil changes at home are a snap.
