Default Too wide meaning what? Will they be stretched? Yes. Will they fit? Yes.

I had 215's on my 8.5" wide wheels and they were pretty stretched. 225's on an 8.5" look good IMHO but if you are trying to go as wide as possible I'd just stick with 235's.

I got 225s and I just got some 17x8.5 and was wondering if I went too wide!

Default Just go to tirerack, and click on the specs of a few different tires in that size. It will show you

the rim width range.

so it should be fine, as tirerack shows 17*8.5 for Audi S4, must be fine then
