2000 S4 ... Running Hot - 250 degrees
Used to run around 200, but now it's pretty consistently running at 250. My coolant expansion and wiper fluid tanks have both cracked, probably from the heat. How do I figure out what's going on?
83k miles, and otherwise, very few problems.
THANKS!!

More info needed...
1. Hows the water temp? An issue with the cooling system could cause oil temps to rise, via the oil cooler.
2. Ambient temps and driving conditions?
3. Oil level? Checked it recently?

Re: 2000 S4 ... Running Hot - 250 degrees
i'm using castrol 10w30
live in SF. temps usually 40-70, mainly in the 50s and 60s. Occasional trip to tahoe, but don't notice a difference.
I drive in the city (gently) and on the highway (85mph avg, except sometimes up to 100, but not that often)
Just replaced the coolant expansion tank b/c it was cracked (due to high temp?), so that level is fine. Oil was changed < 2mos ago, and level is right. Temp has been like this for a few months now, before and after the service.
