2001 B5 S4 P1296 and P0306
Hello:
Starting about a month ago, I noticed around 4k rpm the car stuttering a bit but would resume normal operation. It was intermittent at first but became pretty regular especially when I wanted to feel my new K04's work hard.
Finally three days ago, the car went into limp mode. The CEL codes are P1296 and P0306.
Does anyone know for sure whether P1296 Engine Coolant Temp Sensor fault code could put the car into limp mode?
I'm picking up the part tomorrow. Does anyone know of a link to DIY for this code?
