I'm running 235/40s with Eibach springs (no C/O) & I've never rubbed.

I run 245/40/17s on SSR comps (8.5 wide). No rubbing. Lowered about 1.5 inches.

Default I run 235-45-17 on my wifes b5 with stock sport suspension and 17x7.5 et45 stock b6 5 spokes.

No rubbing at all. I think its the inner rub you would need to worry about and in that case, ride height does not matter. There looks to be plenty of room on the outside so if you are lowered, you shouldnt have issues.

Also why a 40 profile? just run a 45. If you want to get a little nuts then run a 255 35 17 lol. I bet it would fit

Default I ran Dunlop SP Sports 235/45/17's....

with no rubbing issues.

Then changed to Kumo Ecsta's in the same size and had to put spacers on the rears.
