Default 225/45HR-17 Michelin Pilot Alpin: anyone else get sidewall bubbles?

I just had one replaced for free by Michelin. Now a second one has developed a sidewall bubble. Both occurred at 9 kmi and were on the outside of the tire. No scuffs or other damage seen at the site of the bubble, inside or out. The bubble deflates and disappears once the tire air pressure goes to zero.

Is this a common defect? Michelin claims it was impact damage even though they replaced it for free.

BTW I hit no major pot holes with these tires.

Default Yes, had two of them replaced this season, with bubbles...

Looked at the inside, MAJOR cracks, according to tire place, I had stored them incorrectly (too dry maybe ?!!?!?) Trying to avoid this from happening this year.

BTW, how long did you have those tires on your car, I bet its too late for me to ask for $$ back...but will keep invoice for the replacement.

Default Michelin has a 6 year warranty on tires from the date of purchase or

manufacturing date for manufacturing defects. I think there is a tread wear stipulation as well. I put them on Jan., '02...I'm on my third winter now with them

Default No bubbles on mine; no major potholes hit and I keep them at at least 36 psi front, 32 rear. About

8 k miles total on them - this is start of 3rd season.

Default How do you get them to replace? I have the same tires. No bubbles so far, but in case I ever get

them, I'd like to know. Thanks.
