Default 3K mile old K04's are out and have shaft play...

I looked at the turbo's today, both of them have enough shaft play that the blades are hitting the compressor housing. WTF happened? Did I get a sh$t pair of turbo's or what?

Default

Sounds normal to me, OEM K04's have a lot of shaft play.

Default Video is not working but I will tell you right now that OEM K04's have

enough shaft play to hit the housing.

Why did you have your turbo's removed?

Default The video should be up soon, the server is having problems, I had the turbo's removed...

Because the car is smoking on decel and I can't find anything or anyone who knows what it could be caused by and I just assume its the turbo's since I have had turbo's go like this before. Compression is good, the engine has 64K on it. We added a catch can to the pcv system and it stayed the same or got worse. It only smokes on decel, not on startup (meaning valve guide seals are unlikely), like I said, 64K miles so I sure hope piston rings last longer than that, not sure on head gasket but haven't heard of them haveing this problem in the past.

Default I dont think it would be turbos for smoking on decel

if your blades were making contact with the housing you would know, it would be very obvious once the turbo's were off, and on accel it would be pretty bad.

Possibly running to rich? Do you have any EcuX logs of your car, fueling, etc before you had your turbos removed?

Default

running rich would mean flames and black smoke not grey blue clouds like I have.

Default To many other variables.. Bottom line: After you removed your turbos

did you see where the blades made contact? Is there wear on the blades, etc? If not then most likely the turbos are good and something else is the issue.

What software kit do you have?

Default there is very little scrapping on the compressor housing where the blades have rubbed but blades are

fine. I'm running Vast stage 3 tuned by Mike himself.
