Default 40 hour job for a turbo install really accurate?

Got a quote from New Dimensions and 40 hours seems like a really long time compared to what other people are saying it took them (I guess its because they take out the whole engine?) Labor rate is 89 bucks so that comes out to 3560? That seem right? 3560+2300 for Ko'4s = $5860

Default it all depends on how "good" of an install is done

but even for a meticulous install, i would think 40hrs is a bit high

Default Are they doing anything else while they are in there? Mine was about 3 days (22 hrs) of labor for

the removal/installation just the turbos and inlets. All the other stuff was above an beyond that basic charge.

Default It's high IMO if you're doing just K04s and not a full Stage III.

It should be in the range of $1400-$2000 range.

Default 26-28 hours sounds about right to me.

A good tech can drop an engine ( subframe in about 3-4 hours max ) and then another 20-22 hours to install turbos and reinstall engine. Is that all they are doing is adding turbos, nothing else ? if so, then it's high ( based on personal experience )

Default Also depends on what is done along with the install, IMO.

For example, with every RSK04 turbo kit we install here, we will dyno test and tune afterwards, which is included in the price.

Labor quote also includes road testing (at least 40 miles are logged on each car we install our kit on), and AC recharge.

Our rates, for example, are more than the average dealer, but we really feel that you get much more than just a part exchange when you have us do it.

Plus, we have had a zero comeback rate on this particular job, so you know it is done correctly the first time.

Installations at AWE Tuning

Default Mine took a total of 11hrs, start to finish, and started up without so much as a CEL.

It helps that the guy has done about 20 of the installs or so...
