400 hp s4 should run under 13 sec in the 1/4...RIGHT? Whats done to a s4 to get that kind of power..

Well.. here's a datapoint... I'm not claiming anything, so take it as it is ...
I was in XR mode with a tankfull of 100 octane and raced a friend in a supercharged cobra that dyno'd his car with 435RWHP. We did several (~4) roll-ons from 55-60mph on up (ended up stopping around 120-130 each time due to traffic.
We were pretty much dead even. Really. I was shocked, to say the least!
We'd actually do the "he noses ahead a little, then I nose ahead a little" back and forth, and it depended who ended up "jumping first" when we said "go" a little, too, of course.
I did find out later that he was short-shifting a little, so he was probably jsut under 400RWHP (he had to shift with about 1000RPM left in each gear - fuel problems). I'd like to re-race him when he fixes his car... I expect a spanking, but that's fine with me :-)

Cobras have tall gearing though. All of that HP doesn't start to pull until the top end...
...so the low gearing of the S4 gives it a relative advantage vs. higher HP cars with taller gearing.
