on a better note, my original aftermarket warranty I purchased wouldn't cover twin turbos, so they gave my $$$ back - and I got my car Audi Assured (as is) and it passed without a problem. I recommend doing this if you want an aftermarket warranty. Its $850 for registration + 2-3hrs of inspection time. Its a good thing, because my right front wheel bearing is going to need to be replaced soon :-D
Turbo's showed no sign of leaking, or anything. All but about 10 miles chipped :-)

It's the same one that Certified Preowned Audis come with. The only difference between this and the original warranty is that Audi Assured carries a $50 deductible on all repairs.
It's definitely worth the price, IMO.

and also used to drive from NoVA and Western NY quite often... highway miles add up quickly :-) (throw a couple trips into Canada, etc)

I am not sure if rates change across the country at dealerships or what not. But yes, it helps having a good relationship with your service manager and service guys!

...the salesman (southeast Michigan) said I could get the AoA extended warranty by doing aforementioned inspection AND "temporarily" transferring ownership of the car. That is, title has to transfer to the dealer for them to authorize/certify it, then back to me. Cost of everything, including title fees, is around $1500 or so. I don't recall all the sub-costs that add up to that, but, yes, it sounds like a good deal & I plan to explore it soon. I'll be out of warranty in October (or sooner), and based largely on what I've read here, I do not believe the S4 is a good car to own without warranty.
